- Curriculum for Excellence should meet the needs of all children and young people, wherever their learning is taking place and whatever their circumstances
- The Curriculum for Excellence entitlements are for all young people up to the age of 18, even if their learning is taking place outside of the school
- A top priority is helping young people to stay in learning post-16 since this is the best way to improve their long-term employability
- A wide range of partners will work together to ensure there is enough variety and choice in the curriculum to meet the needs of the diverse range of young people.
- Targeted support will be offered to young people who are not in education, employment or training, or are at risk of leaving learning, to help them develop wider skills for learning, life and work so that they can move onto employment or post-school learning.
